Know + Like + Trust and Remember

Most people understand the importance of 'Know, Like & Trust' in business.
"People do business with people they know, like and trust"
But you also need to be remembered.
"People do business with people they know, like, trust & REMEMBER"
Marketing - just as relationships - require ongoing commitment and not a one off exchange.
Here's an example.
Think of a plumber you have used in the past. Most likely you found them via a referral or some other way - and they did a great job. It may be some years before you need a plumber again. If you are like most people, you will have forgotten who that person is.
Imagine if once a quarter you received a communication from your plumber. Things like easy tips to keep your drains in order. This kind of useful, no-strings communication is what would keep him front of mind.
I purchased my home 10 years ago, and I can still tell you the name of the real estate agent who sold the home to me. How is that possible?
Every year, on the anniversary of my settlement, I get a card in the mail from this agent with a lottery ticket. I am reminded about this realtor, and she would be my first port of call if I was going to sell my home.
So one of the easiest, and cheapest things you can do to start getting referrals, is to create your 'Remember' plan.
What are you going to ensure you maintain an ongoing, proactive and helpful relationship with your clients?
I'd love to hear any creative ideas you have come up with.
